Barron Trump College Update as Donald Trump Eliminates One School

Barron Trump will be attending college in New York, according to his father, former President Donald Trump.
The Trump family has worked hard to keep Barron’s life private and out of the public eye. However, since turning 18 this year, he’s been making more appearances and there’s been tons of speculation about where Trump’s youngest son will attend college in the fall.
On Tuesday, Trump told the New York Post that Barron will attend college in New York.
“He’s going to announce it soon. He’s all set,” Trump said. “He’s always been a really good student.”
When asked if the school Barron selected was New York University (NYU), Trump told the reporter that he’d tell her “off the record.”
It’s unclear if Trump meant New York state or New York City when he said “New York.” However, it’s logical that Barron would choose a school in Manhattan. His family still has a home there and it’s where he grew up.
New York City has dozens of colleges, although Trump’s been hyping up Barron’s choice as being a good school, which has led many to believe it’s one of the top schools in the city. Columbia University is ranked the best school in New York, according to U.S. News & World Report, followed by NYU and Fordham University.
When branching out across the state, Cornell University in Ithaca and Syracuse University are also highly ranked on the list of New York’s best colleges.
Barron graduated from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, in May, and Trump has since released several teasers about where his son will go to college. In June, he told Fox & Friends Weekend that Barron was accepted “everywhere” that he applied.
“He’s amazing actually, in a certain way,” Trump said. “He’s tall, good-looking … a very good student. And he’s applied to colleges and gets into everywhere he goes. He’s very sought after from that standpoint; he’s a very smart guy. He’s a very tall guy. And he’s a great kid. He’s cool, he’s pretty cool, I’ll tell ya.”
Trump added that the college protests over the Israel-Gaza war may have impacted Barron’s decision. He said the rioting may make someone want “to go to a different kind of college” because plenty “don’t riot.”
The mystery around where Barron is attending college sparked some speculation that he would attend the University of Pennsylvania. Both his father and several siblings attended UPenn and in September 2023, Trump told Megyn Kelly that Barron was “thinking about” attending UPenn.
If Barron has decided to attend NYU and live on campus, he could be moving in from August 24 to August 31. It’s also possible that he won’t live on campus at NYU or that special accommodations will be made for his move in.
